While you can't change the amount of space you have, some interior design tricks can maximize what you already have. How a Professional Interior Designer Would Decorate a Mobile Home

While a mobile home might not be the peak of luxury, that doesn't mean that it can't be. This "minimal luxury" style gives you a sense of living large in Flordia without the massive price tag. Perfect for couples starting out or those ready to retire.

Some of these tips are even used by home stagers who are hoping to get a house to sell quickly. Things such as decluttering can always help make a room feel bigger, but here are five tips for decorating your mobile home.

Trick #1 - The rule of 3's.

While a chair rail might just seem like a protector for the wall at first, there's more to this decoration. This design trick is meant to make the room appear taller than it is.

Chair rails are installed to divide the wall's height by 3, but our brains tell us that it's at the halfway mark, making the higher portion look even taller than it is.

Don't be afraid to experiment with the rule of 3. Paint a room 2/3rds one color and top it off with white. Just keeping the measurements within those divisible by 3 can add a unique look to each room.

Trick #2 – Cohesion and Flow

Utilizing different colors, materials, or textures throughout your mobile home can drastically change the space. Adding wood trim or even covering 1/3rd (remember the rule of 3!) in wood panels or fabric can make a huge difference.

By matching furniture and home decor to those accents, you can easily create a similar texture and tone throughout the living space. Connecting these spaces together creates cohesion of the entire mobile home, giving it the feeling of more space.

Trick #3 – Lots of Light

The Sunshine State. What would Flordia be without all that beautiful sun? Adding that to your house might be the best tool in making it feel larger than anything in Palm Beach.

Like those big bay windows, windows allow natural light to enter your mobile home and bounce around. Just having that natural connection opens your home up to the outside, allowing any room to feel even bigger than it is. It also helps to save on energy bills—a win-win situation.

Trick #4 – Minimal Decor

While minimalism has been trendy lately, there are some real benefits within the practice. Don't let the minimal style deter you. Homes showcasing this design can be just as inviting and comfortable.

It also doesn't mean that your home won't reflect your personal style. There is a line between decorating and over decorating with clutter. Interior design professionals recommend keeping items in collections of three. There's that magic number again!

Trick #5 – Lighter is Always Better

We can't deny that white is a popular color for the insides of houses, and there's a reason why. While it can be hard to clean, it's the best paint color to open up a house.

Don't feel like white is your only option either. Add a splash of color, but the lighter, the better. This provides not only the feeling of open space but also a blank canvas to decorate against.

There is so much potential in mobile homes. With different plan layouts for every type of family, Owning your own home in Flordia has never been easier. Keep the tips in mind as you design and decorate your mobile home.
